To further this growth\, the region needs brand ambassadors   hospitality employees who are thoroughly engaged\,\n\nconnected\, and committed to Virginia's Blue Ridge.\n\n \n\nThis training brings together two functional elements of business development - branding and customer service. Businesses lacking in one or both have a low chance of survival. Likewise\, in order for the region to promote itself as a tourist destination\, hospitality employees must serve as regional brand ambassadors through effective customer service.\n\n \n\nGood customer service is built on effective communication. Good customer service means understanding communication as a process and using critical thinking skills to navigate that process. Good customer service means developing one's personal brand to present a consistent image both verbally and non-verbally to customers. Good customer service utilizes available resources to engage and promote Virginia's Blue Ridge.'
